WHAT ARE PAPER WASPS?

Paper wasps happen to be 3/4 inch to 1 inch (2-2.5 cm) long wasps who gather fibers from the dead wood and plant stems, which they mix with their own saliva to construct a water-resistant nests. The paper wasps do not happen to be as dangerous as other hornets or yellow jacket wasps.

Only on being annoyed they react by stinging which is a rare to occur.  Feeding only on weathered woods, fibers, pulp and card board or rotten wooden stuffs, the paper wasps are calm by their nature.

Their nests seem to be just like an umbrella upside down hanging either from ceiling, tree or attic or portico. Paper wasps happen to be bestowed with a secretion of a special kind of a chemical which repels the insects causing harm to their nest like ant. The chemical they secret in their body is spread by them around their nestle which repels any perilous insect away from them and protect their eggs.
Where large number of the social wasps use the mud by feeding upon them in building their nest a small group of wasps build their nests out of plant fibers and pulps which they get chewed in creating a wax-like material to form a paper and use it in building their wasp nestle.
Paper wasps feed on nectar, and other insects, including caterpillars, flies, and beetle larvae, and they play their crucial role in protecting the agriculture fro perilous effect of other insects by feeding upon them.
