How to treat a wasp sting?

USING ICE :

  • First thing you should do is to remove the stinger from the skin with a dull knife.
  •  Remove the stinger in opposite direction as it will pop out normally. 
  • Ice treatment is also good for such problems.
  •  Put ice in a cloth or plastic bag and apply ice around that area. 
  • Don’t put ice directly on the skin because it may burn skin.
  •  For red wasp sting you can also use tropical anti – histamine and they are available in cream, stick or gel form.


APPLY BAKING SODA

  • Apply moist baking soda on the affected area; it will give you relief from pain. 
  • Mix baking soda with vinegar and make a paste and apply it on the skin. 
  • Placing sliced onion over the sting area is also beneficial to slow down swelling. 
  • If stung wash the affected area with water immediately so that some of the venom will be removed and then apply creams. 
  • Make a mixture of few drops of tea tree oil and cold water and this mixture can be used to clean the affected area.


OILS & GELS
  • Tee tree oil is good to reduce inflammation and infection. 
  • Dip a piece of cotton in apple cidar vinegar is also very effective and provides relief in pain. 
  • Aloe gel is good to prevent skin damage and it quickens healing of the wound. 
  • You can also apply aloe gel over affected area and this will reduce itching over the skin. 
  • Place a cucumber slice over bitten area and this will minimize pain and discomfort. Crushed garlic will also reduce inflammation. 
  • Onion juice is a popular red wasp sting home remedy and it works well over the wound.
